Art Director (hands-on)

Location: Athens

Full-time | Cinobo

We’re looking for a hands-on Art Director to shape and execute Cinobo’s visual identity as we scale internationally. You’ll lead the creative vision across brand, digital, and motion - while staying close to the craft - ensuring every touchpoint reflects a confident, cinematic, and culturally resonant brand. This is a high-impact role at one of the few European streaming platforms to successfully scale internationally, where design and storytelling are central to how cinema that matters reaches the world.

Why Cinobo?

Cinobo is the curated streaming destination where curation meets entertainment. We handpick independent and world-class cinema - stories that matter - making great cinema accessible and entertaining for everyone. In a streaming landscape dominated by algorithms and volume, Cinobo has taken a different path - and made it work. We’re an underdog that has achieved strong growth by breaking the notion that indie cinema is for few people. Cinobo is more than a platform. We entertain audiences through a curated platform of independent and world-class content, helping people discover stories that matter, expand perspectives, and spark conversation. Our mission extends beyond the screen: distributing films, preserving cinemas, and fostering a community that believes cinema can transform how people see themselves, each other, and the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality visual concepts that set the creative direction and elevate brand expression.
- Lead the development and evolution of design systems and overall brand direction.
- Craft polished, high-impact static and motion deliverables on brand, visually compelling, and meeting or exceeding quality standards
- Define the visual narrative for campaigns, digital experiences, and multi-channel storytelling.
- Ensure coherence and consistency across all visual assets, formats, and platforms.
- Translate ambiguous or incomplete requirements into clear, compelling creative concepts.
- Provide creative guidance and feedback to the in house house creative team to ensure aligned, high-quality output.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into strong visual solutions.
- Leverage Figma, AI tools, and creative automation to improve creative output and production efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in visual, brand, or digital design, with 1–3 years in an art direction or lead creative role.
- Hands-on expertise in visual design and motion, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft in storytelling, typography, layout, and animation.
- Fluent in Figma, including component libraries, prototyping, and design system management.
- Strong motion design capabilities using tools such as After Effects, Premiere, or equivalent.
- Proven experience building and maintaining multi-platform design systems with consistency and scalability.
- Fluency in digital and print design principles, including responsive design, accessibility, and production standards.
- Familiar with AI-driven creative tools and creative automation workflows.
- Experience guiding creative collaborators and managing external partners to deliver high-quality work.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver polished, high-impact creative work with a consistent “wow factor.”
